What’s The DirecTV Stream Deal That’s Being Offered?

For those who are unaware, today – Monday, May 20 – is National Streaming Day. That means that some of the biggest players in the business are looking to offer sweet deals to prospective customers. DirecTV is definitely going all out as it’s offering Stream’s “Entertainment” package – the lowest tier subscription – for $49.99 during the first three months after sign-up. This is quite a steal, as the package – which offers over 90 channels is –  normally priced at $79.99. 

The four other bundles under the brand have been discounted significantly as well. The “Choice” tier (which offers 125+ channels) has been reduced from $108.99 to $69.99, and the “Ultimate” package (which has more than 160 channels) is going for $89.99 as opposed to the usual $119.99. “Premier” is also on sale for $134.99 from $164.99, while “Optimo Mas” (the Spanish language option) is running for $49.99 instead of $79.99. Vikash Sharma, the general manager of the brand, released this statement on the temporary price slashes:

As mentioned, though, anyone who wants to get in on these sweet deals is going to have to act quickly. These deals end tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21. This may seem hasty but other companies have taken similar approaches. For instance, Black Friday 2022 saw Paramount+ go for 50% off and, in 2023, Peacock was offered for $29.99 for a full year. More recently, Max’s annual plans were slashed by 45%. All in all, when it comes to this National Streaming Day deal, interested parties don’t have time to waste.

DirecTV Stream is available for $49.99: In celebration of National Streaming Day, DirecTV Stream's various bundles are being offered at a $30 or more discount. These price reductions will remain in effect for the first three months after sign up is initiated. The various tiers feature channels like ESPN, CNN, Disney Channel, HBO and more. In recent years, this cable provider has experienced a few challenges amid the rise of some of the best streaming services on the market. With both Black Friday and Cyber Monday now behind us for another year, though, the $1.99 a month price drop has come to an end, too.

This year you had the option of saving on both Peacock's monthly and annual plan. While not as cheap as 2022's $0.99 offer (unsurprising considering Peacock subscriptions did go up by a dollar this year), you could currently pay just $1.99 a month for a whole year when subscribing to Peacock's Ad-Supported plan. Equally, you could also make the most of the even better value for money deal on its annual plan.

Down from $59.99 to $19.99 for the whole year, while you had to pay this upfront, it did work out at a rate of $1.66 a month.

It was one of the best Black Friday deals for entertainment fans, but it expired on November 28. Until next time, though hopefully we'll see some kind of promotion earlier than the 2024 Black Friday Peacock deals that will inevitably arrive next November.

What Cyber Monday Peacock Deals Did We See Last Year?

Peacock has always been hugely generous when it comes to Cyber Monday savings. In 2022, Peacock allowed customers to pay 99 cents a month for a whole year. In total, subscribers could save $48 for the first year by using the Cyber Monday discount code.

Outside of Cyber Monday, we've also seen Peacock shave 50% off annual plans, whether you opt for its Premium or Premium Plus package.

A huge 87% saving, that wasn't all that was on offer in the way of Black Friday Hulu deals. Hulu also reintroduced its discounted Hulu and Disney Plus bundle. Last year you could get the two for just under $5. With Hulu eve cheaper this year, though, and with Disney Plus thrown in for just $2 more, you could get the usually $9.99 a month Duo Basic bundle for just $2.99. And, once again, anyone that hopped on that deal will be able to rinse through both platforms for the next year.

There was also a great opportunity to try out STARZ as a Premium Add-On and see if its entertainment was a bit of you. Usually costing an additional $9.99 a month on top of your Hulu subscription, for six months customers could add it to Hulu for $0.99 a month. So, $1.98 a month in all.

As mentioned, sadly the 2023 Black Friday Hulu deals came to an end on November 28, so all eyes are on Black Friday streaming deals for 2024 – unless Hulu fancies treating us to another helping of savings in the meantime, that is.

This year, Hulu returned to its cheapest ever price of $0.99 a month – a discount not seen since 2020. 

You could also opt to add Disney Plus for just $2 more, meaning getting two of the best streaming services for under $3 for a whole year.
